Investing in a post COP28 world

Moderated by Simon Mundy, Moral Money Editor at the FT, we hear from three leaders in climate and impact investing. What role should private capital play in helping us to achieve our climate goals? How do policy, regulation and global climate commitments shape the investment environment? And how do we maximise the real world impact of private investment?

John is Chairman of BeyondNetZero, a climate growth equity fund established in partnership with General Atlantic. He served as Group Chief Executive of international energy company BP from 1995 to 2007, having joined the company in 1966 as a university apprentice.

Shami is Partner and Head of Sustainability at Actis. She leads Actis’ approach to responsible investment. In 2021, she joined the G7 Impact Taskforce as an advisory panel member. She is an advisory board member to the IFC Operating Principles for Impact Management. Before joining Actis in 2014 Shami was as a senior consultant at PwC’s Sustainability and Climate Change team for ten years.

Irena leads the venture capital investing side of SYSTEMIQ, the global thought leader and investment firm dedicated to climate change.
