Japan's new dynamism and new risks
A panel of experts visiting from Tokyo look at the prospects for the economy, for Japanese corporations and what the "run to Japan" phenomenon from China tells us about the future.

Tomoo is Professor at the Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies and Director of Institute of Japan in the Global Economy at Waseda University. He is a macroeconomist with both theoretical and empirical skillsets and rich experience on policy-oriented research in and about the region.
Takehiro is a quadrilingual journalist specializing in East Asia, and an adjunct researcher at the Institute of Japan in the Global Economy at Waseda University. His recent book, Run Ri: Tracing the Footsteps of Wealthy Chinese Elites Escaping to Japan explores the migration of Chinese elites and professionals to Japan—a phenomenon that is drawing significant political, economic, and social attention in the country.
Duncan draws on three decades advising investors in technology and innovation in Asia to identify and back the next generation of disruptive ventures. He is Chairman of BDA, an Asia-focused investment advisory firm he founded in 1994. In Japan, Duncan is Adjunct Researcher at the newly established Institute of Japan in the Global Economy (JGE) at Waseda University, serves on the board of councilors of the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) and is a founding member of Asia Society Japan also a global trustee of the Asia Society.
