With increasing American investment in European football, Ivan joins us to discuss the business of football.
Ivan is one of the most experienced executives in global football with important contributions in the United States, England and Italy. In 1994, he was a member of the founding management team of Major League Soccer and served as the league’s Deputy Commissioner and President of its international division, Soccer United Marketing International. In 2009 he joined Arsenal and served for ten years as its Chief Executive. During his tenure, Arsenal won three FA Cups and regularly qualified for the UEFA Champions League, while remaining profitable in every year of his leadership under Arsenal’s self-sustaining strategy. In 2018, he joined AC Milan as CEO and led its on and off field turnaround, returning the club back to financial sustainability and winning the Scudetto in 2021/22 prior to its sale by Elliott Management to US fund Red Bird. He has served in senior roles across the game, including on the major committees of FIFA, UEFA, the European Clubs Association and leagues and federations in the US and Europe.
