The transformation of agriculture - the role of AI, autonomous robots, space assets, and a lot of compute.
Will each of the 4 trillion seeds in the US corn market have its own ‘prescription’ for fertiliser, pesticide, planting? How will space assets orchestrate food production on Earth? Will autonomous equipment change the shape of farming? How are better indoor and outdoor location technologies bottlenecks for food production? Sophie will explore the opportunities presented to agriculture as the industry grapples with a changing climate, desperate demographics, and novel technologies.
Sophie is an advisor to John Deere & Co, on the future of food, climate, and agriculture. She is a futurist, and has given 250+ provocative talks to boards and exec teams on novel science and tech. Sophie co-founded a spinout from Oxford University’s Astrophysics Department, labelling data to train algorithms. She previously worked at WIRED Magazine, Singularity University on the NASA Research Park in Silicon Valley, and the Oxford Martin School at Oxford University, where she raised $120m for frontier-bending research.
