Ambassador Dominic Barton
Ambassador Barton was appointed as Canada’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China in September 2019. Prior to his nomination, Dominic was Global Managing Partner at McKinsey & Company where he served from 2009 to 2018. He served as Chairman and Non-Executive Director of a number of international companies, non-profit organisations and universities prior to taking his current role. He has co-authored four books on topics related to financial management and leadership.
Since August 2018, Daniel Koldyk has been the Counsellor (Economics and Finance) to Canada’s Embassy in Beijing and Chief Representative of Canada’s Department of Finance in China. In this role, he leads the Embassy’s macroeconomic analysis of greater China, strategic economic and financial policy and financial services advocacy for the China market.
