With the race for the 2020 election hotting up, Ed Luce will give us an update from Washington. What are the chances of Trump being re-elected and who will he most likely be running against?
Edward has worked for the FT in Washington DC since 2006. He was made the FT’s chief US commentator in September 2011 with a weekly column and regular editorials on the US economy and politics. Prior to that he was the FT’s Washington Bureau Chief. Since 2018 he has been the US national editor.
Before moving to Washington in 2006, Ed was the FT’s South Asia bureau chief, based in New Delhi. Between December 1999 and January 2001, he was the speechwriter to Larry Summers, Treasury Secretary in the Clinton administration.
Edward is the author of three highly acclaimed books: In Spite of the Gods: The Rise of Modern India (2006), Time to Start Thinking: The Spectre of American Decline (2012) and The Retreat of Western Liberalism (2017).
