Patrick Radden Keefe
The US political landscape, the future of journalism and how to fund the arts when donors are under scrutiny as never before
In conversation with John Arlidge, Patrick will be covering politics, journalism, the Sacklers and much more besides.
Patrick is an award-winning staff writer at The New Yorker magazine and the author of five books, including the New York Times bestsellers Empire of Pain, which received the Baillie Gifford Prize and was a finalist for the FT Business Book of the Year; Say Nothing, which received the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Orwell Prize for Political Writing, and was named one of the “Top 10 Nonfiction Books of the Decade” by Entertainment Weekly; and Rogues, a collection of articles from The New Yorker. His writing on the Sackler family was the inspiration for the 2023 Netflix series “Painkiller,” starring Matthew Broderick and Uzo Aduba. A dramatic series based on Say Nothing, starring Lola Petticrew, Anthony Boyle and Maxine Peake, will appear on Disney Plus in January 2025. Patrick was also the creator and host of “Wind of Change,” about the strange convergence of Cold War espionage and heavy metal music, which the Guardian named the #1 podcast of 2020.
