UK Ambassador to Iran
Join Diana for an off the record conversation with the UK’s Ambassador in Iran, Rob Macaire. We will cover the Iranian experience with the virus as well as broader issues around Iranian domestic and foreign affairs.
Rob was appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran in April 2018.
He studied at Oxford University for his MA in Modern History and joined the FCO in 1990. Rob has served overseas in Bucharest, Washington, New Delhi and in Nairobi where he was appointed British High Commissioner.
He has had a wide range of responsibilities at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London including as the Director for Consular Services. Prior to joining the FCO, Rob worked at the Ministry of Defence and also recently worked in the private sector as Director of Government/Public Affairs and Political Risk at BG Group plc.
